Print at Any Shop: Upload First, Pick Up Like ibon

If you have used 7-ELEVEN ibon cloud printing, you probably know the rhythm: prepare a file on your phone or computer, then use a code at the location to retrieve it for printing.

You often need the same outcome at an ordinary print shop, even though that shop may not support ibon. Split the job into two steps instead: temporarily upload the file to DropAlways and keep the six-character pickup code; enter the code on the print-shop computer, download the file, then print it through the shop's usual process.

This does not mean using ibon at 7-ELEVEN, or taking an ibon file to another shop. DropAlways and ibon are separate services with no system integration or partnership. What is similar is the familiar habit of uploading first and retrieving the file on site.

A familiar flow that also works at an ordinary print shop

With ibon cloud printing, file upload and printing happen inside the same service and in-store equipment. An ordinary print shop is different: its computers, printers, accepted formats, and pricing can vary, and it may not offer a convenience-store cloud-print feature.

DropAlways fills only the middle step—bringing the file to the computer at the location:

1. Upload from your own device first: choose the file at home, at school, or on your phone.
2. Keep the six-character pickup code: it is the manually typed entry point for this temporary batch.
3. Collect the file on the shop computer: open the DropAlways pickup page, enter the code, and download it.
4. Print under the shop's rules: choose paper, color or black and white, quantity, and payment.

As long as the shop computer can open a browser and download a file, this workflow can work. The shop does not need to install DropAlways or support ibon.

Two things to do before leaving

First, convert the final file to PDF when possible. This reduces problems with missing fonts, different Office versions, or changed layouts on the shop computer. Second, choose the lifetime around when you will print: choose 6 or 12 hours for printing today, 24 hours for tomorrow, and up to 48 hours only when the schedule is uncertain.

After uploading, save both the six-character pickup code and the keeper link. The keeper link is shown only when the upload finishes; whoever holds it can delete the batch early after printing.

At the shop, a pickup code is not a print code

Open DropAlways's pickup page on the shop computer and enter the six-character code. If you set a password during upload, enter it too. Then download the file.

This is an important difference from an ibon code: a DropAlways pickup code only lets you download the file. It does not schedule printing or control the shop's printer. Once the file is downloaded, use the software, computer, or staff assistance the print shop provides. Paper size, double-sided printing, color, price, and supported formats are all determined by the shop.

Why not bring a USB drive or sign into cloud storage?

A USB drive must be connected to an unfamiliar computer, can be left behind, and adds a physical path between devices. Signing into Google Drive, OneDrive, or personal email asks you to enter a long-lived account password on the shop computer and remember to sign out correctly.

A pickup code is not an account. It points only to one temporary batch, not your entire email inbox or cloud drive. For an important everyday document, add a password, shorten the lifetime, and set the pickup limit to one; send the password separately from the pickup code.

After printing, remove the local copy

DropAlways can expire its temporary online copy, but it cannot delete a file already downloaded to the shop computer. Before you leave:

1. Close PDF readers, Office apps, and preview windows.
2. Delete the file from Downloads.
3. Empty the recycle bin or trash.
4. Clear the browser's download history.
5. Back on your phone, use the keeper link to delete the online temporary copy if you no longer need it.

Do not upload genuinely confidential or highly regulated information to DropAlways; a public computer at a general print shop is not suitable for handling that kind of content either.
